With CHA around the corner, a new release shipping this week, a secret project and a guest stint at a kit club this month, not to mention prepping for all my classes coming up in the Fall, I've been having a bit of a disconnect week. There's a pile and a half of things to do and I'm trying to get around to everything.
So what do I do? Well, I scrapbook, of course.
It's like my little time out I need to take from all the frenzy. Sometimes we need that, don't we?
So, here is one of my Canada Day layouts for this year. I had only planned on creating one this year but a major oops has forced me to create another. You see, I had planned to hinge the main photo of this layout to open up to reveal a ton of other small photos under it - see the arrow turns holding the photo in place? Well, I forgot that was the plan and glued down the photo, LOL. So now all of the other smaller photos (fireworks, family photo, etc) will have to go on another layout.
Such is scrapbooking when your mind is on the pile of the to-do lists, I guess!
I've also discovered a couple new things about how I prefer to scrapbook:
1) I like sketches now. I used to think I didn't need sketches, I liked to just throw this and that here and there, and fill in the spaces and I.liked.that.kind.of.process. Now? Not so much. Again, it's the mental clutter I think. Now I like to sketch things out in my notebook - things flow easier and I enjoy scrapping more as a result.
2) I like creating little "vignettes" - sort of like little layouts that I can place on my larger layout. Get what I mean? In the Canada Day layout I stamped 2 ATC-sized pieces (can you spot the new stamps?) and then added them to the layout - I love the look of it, and I enjoyed creating the little bits to add to the big bit.
The last few days have been wild. WILD. So much going on, and man, summer is speeding by. Tomorrow I will have another layout to share - I'm guest stinting here and tomorrow is reveal day! Today will be all about filling orders and working on that secret project - so excited to share with you very, very soon!
Totally love the layout, Kah-Mei! All the stamping is just awesome! YAY for taking time to scrap!
Good luck getting things crossed off your to-do list - I can't imagine how long it is.
Looking forward to hearing the news!

I love your idea about stamping the smaller pieces as accents--it turned out great here!
