Zoom!

That's me going by. It's a fly-by post.I'm here but my foot's already back in the packaging room. So many orders to get out that it is consuming all my time. The rest of the stamps should arrive tomorrow and it will be crazy busy as usual. But I'm trying to take time to get some "life" time this weekend - and some girl time. I'll be chauffering Emily to ballet and baseball this weekend as well as selling off some of my stash at the Treasure Sale at Remember Me - come by and take my stuff away... PLEASE! The sale is on Saturday, between 10am-2pm. I'll also be meeting up with Rachel and hopefully Kate this weekend, and dropping off orders to a few local stores. Add in there a family dinner and some errands, and there you have my weekend. Oh, did I forget I will be packaging and shipping? No? Well, I will be. That was a given.

Someone send me a shipper/receiver! LOL.

If I owe you an email or two, please know I am really trying to work down the list of emails. We have some email hiccups in the last couple of days and the volume of mail that comes in is just incredible. I can literally spend half my day just answering emails. But I promise, I will get through the pile!

You know, time sure flies by when you're having fun. And man, this is fun. It's coming up to FontWerks' 2nd birthday. We launched on National Scrapbook Day in 2004 (even had  a crop to celebrate, complete with Krispy Kremes. YUM). Sometimes it feels like it's been longer than 2 years, but most of the time I am amazed it's already been 2 years. What a journey it has been! And what a road to come. There is always change in the wind, and with that comes growth, which is an exciting thing! Watch for some fun stuff to come as we celebrate our anniversary - mayhap even a contest or two. So much to do and think about. And so much to celebrate and enjoy. I even promise photos on the blog.

I love my couch

Yes, it's something like 12 years old, but it is comfy to sleep on. Or, in my case, to moan and groan while being sick. I had a touch of a headache on Friday and was afraid I would miss out on the fun trip to Treasury of Memories on Saturday. I managed to barely hold it together for Saturday (Kate and I were total pill poppers that day), but Sunday rolled around, and I was out for the count. Down and out. Ring the bell, the match is over. I literally lay prone for two days and am just barely up on my feet today. Have a doctor's appointment today, and am hoping that I'll feel better soon as there is so much to take care of.

Stuff like celebrating her victory! WOOHOO!!!!!

I like to move it, move it

chant it with me: "I like me move it, move it..." - and no, I didn't learn the lyrics of this song off the cd but via Madagascar, the movie. Emily and Cameron love it, so we watch it a lot, And there is a lot of kid laughter going on with the cute butt wiggles (theirs, not mine!).

That is my chant this weekend. Gotta move it. Bust  a move. Get the orders packed and out of here. The acrylics are finally here and getting shipped, STAT! I am personally bringing a shipment to Treasury of Memories on Saturday. Love that store. Love the people, the set up, the ideas. Loved it even more when the mexican restaurant next door was there. I heard the rumour that it's gone. Eek. I am not looking forward to finding out if it is true. I'm going down with my road trip pal Kate and it will be a blast, it always is. Meeting up with the fabulous Elsie and Tia and perhaps Sara! Heck, there will be tons of people there. It will be scrapbooking craziness. Yay!

Have a lot going behind the scenes. Prep for CHA-S officially begins this week. Already in talks with the current designers and perhaps adding one or two new ones. Love this process. Love the people want to work with us.

And you want to talk about what moved me? A phone call I received this week. Followed up with an email. Made me cry. It was a good sort of cry. It was so sweet, and I was so moved. Hopefully I will get to share those with you in a week or two.

Well I guess I can keep half a secret. Thought I'd share that we've made a fantastic addition to the FontWerks team as of last week - announcement will be made in the upcoming newsletter! :)

Found!!

The acrylic stamps have cleared customs and will be delivered within the next few days - so happy to have them finally reach us!! I know we have had very many anxious emails about when they will be shipped so I am happy to report, VERY VERY SOON!

I have received a few emails about where else I will be teaching besides Australia - I am glad to say I will be at this event at Precious Memories in May, and doing make and takes at Pick of The Patch's Birthday Bash retreat in April. Looking forward to both times. In fact, I am giving myself some scrap time this weekend to finish up some project ideas for these classes - now that's something to look forward to for sure!

Have some fun news to share from the home front but will save it for when I get time to upload the photos.

alas, my absence has not been due to me taking time to play with the new acrylic stamps. I wish it was! but the shipment is held up in customs and they are taking a long time to process it. no one can seem to "find" it, all they keep telling me is that "it's at customs, they'll process it and then you can broker it through." It's never taken this long before - about a week now. i'm waiting, anxious and impatient. my retailers are waiting for their orders. their customers want the stamps. but still we wait.

on the bright side - i got a surprise email from an old friend from the Land Down Under a couple days ago - her husband and her are dear friends of ours, but somehow we lost touch for a few years - and i had been thinking about them and grieving the loss of the communication. Then out of the blue, an email! I wrote back to her telling her how joyous my heart was. And get this - the re-connection is all due to scrapbooking! She received an email telling her I will be teaching at the Australasian Scrapbook and Papercraft Convention in Brisbane, Australia, June 10-12 - and immediately followed the link to the FontWerks site and emailed me. How cool is that. A very welcome reunion. And yes! I am going to Australia! Was so excited to receive the invite and am looking forward to come and teach. Also looking forward to seeing Helen. Perhaps might take a side trip to Sydney to visit the friends I mentioned, and other family and friends.

Can't wait.

that I love my job at FontWerks....

I get to see all the new products being delivered and dance around like a silly minny, giggling in excitement as I open up all the boxes and check all the new stuff out!!!!!!!!!

The papers arrived today and after a quick 5 second look at them I had to call Kate to tell her that the papers look just too fantastic. The colors, the patterns, everything!! Kate, I hope you love them too, they are on their way to you today!!

And in another day or so, I'll get to repeat this silliness when the acrylic stamps finally arrive!!!!
